Location

The location is based on the hot spots in Amsterdam for tourists. We are basing our stations depending on these locations for more customers. Since tourists are occupied with activities in these locations, we can attract a bigger audience to our product service system.

When visiting a new city, tourists usually try to see as much as they can. They have a travel route that takes them to these specific locations. While traveling from one location to another our customers use their phones to navigate, take pictures, find locations to eat/drink, etc. This means frequent usage of their phones and a high chance their phone runs out of battery quickly. The machines should be placed accordingly in different hot spots.

According to our market research, we want our customers to use our power banks while doing tourist activities such as shopping, eating, and sitting. We want to place our machines in publicly accessible areas, where they will be accessible 24 hours a day, rather than inside buildings. The best locations are those near points of interest and attractions, where our customers spend the majority of their time, such as for shopping, sightseeing, and sitting in restaurants/cafés/bars. In Amsterdam we are considering Dam Square, Amsterdam’s central square and Vondelpark, one of the city’s most famous parks. Parks near museums, such as the Museumplein, are also suitable locations for our machines. After visiting museums, individuals often find themselves exhausted and with empty battery levels on their electronic devices. Consequently, they rather desire to simply sit and temporarily refrain from engaging with their mobile phones. Additionally, it is advisable to refrain from placing our machines near canal cruises and boat services, as such locations are suboptimal for the placement of our power banks due to their proximity to water damage.

These are the possible locations for our machines. However, we cannot know the exact specific locations where they can be placed, since to determine this there will be a need for access to official documents and research from the government.

As seen in the picture the marked locations include shopping areas including Dam Square, de Bijenkorpf, de Negen straatjes, Leidseplein, and the flower market, as well as numerous cafes/restaurants/bars to sit in. For parks we marked parks such as Vondelpark, the botanical garden, the Cultuurpark, and the park in Museumplein. Furthermore, machines could be placed in the north of Amsterdam, where there are some famous museums such as the Next Museum, restaurants, the largest vintage fair in Europe, etc.
