Social Media

Since we are offering a technical solution and our target group is very broad in general, for all people who own a phone but mainly for tourists, the best way to advertise this product would be through some phone ads. However, when looking closely at our target group, our main customers would be adolescents. Adolescents use their phones the most and run out of battery thus, social media is the best advertisement solution. By having ads popping up on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook (for older generations) a wide range of people can be reached. The advertisements would be regarding the app and the whole PSS as a whole.

Moreover, even before the tourists travel to Amsterdam, an advertisement on Instagram (or any other social media) may appear, familiarizing them with our PSS and reminding them to use it if needed.

Posters around the city

Posters are mainly noticed when people have more time to actually look at them and read them. Thus, posters can be made to advertise the Product Service System and put near cafes, bars, restaurants, bus stops, billboards, and shopping malls. Additionally, there can be posters placed near the charging stations that would ask the customer if they are in need of a charge and advertise that there is a charging station near them (indicating where and where).

The App

After the customer has downloaded the app and subscribed to it, the app will notify the customer when they are close to a charging station. In this way, even if the customer doesn’t realize that they are in need of charge, the notification will remind them.

Promotion

As mentioned before, social media and posters will be used for advertisement of the U’Charge. However, posters can be also used for promotion.

Apart from that, introductory offers can be made. Meaning that for example, if a customer subscribes to the service after 2h of viewing the add they get a discount code for 20% off their first month. Promotional events can also be organized where people can come and listen to the presentations given by some of the crew members. If a person attends this event, they can get discount codes for subscriptions.

U’Charge can also collaborate with some of the bigger companies in the Netherlands such as Albert Heijn, IKEA, ABN AMRO, ING, Heineken, and Grolsch. In this way coupons or flyers can be handed out when people pass by these companies or go shopping etc… Or another possible option would be for example with every 15 products bought in AH (Albert Heijn) the customer can get a discount code and so on.
