Station Design

Station’s Style

The design of the station is primarily influenced by our company’s core values, which are reflected in its overall aesthetic. The embodiment of power is evident in the station’s outer shape, characterized by straight lines that convey strength and authority. However, the inclusion of rounded fillets reduces the harshness of the design, resulting in a smoother and more approachable appearance. This harmonizes with our power bank’s organic form and establishes a visual connection between the two products.

Furthermore, the design of our station also embodies the value of security. The side covers not only provide protection against inclement weather but also incorporate a subtle blue tint that adds a touch of privacy. This color choice enhances the perception of a secure environment for users.

To optimize accessibility, the station is designed symmetrically, enabling users to approach it from either side. This strategic design allows for multiple points of access, even when the station is centrally located, thereby facilitating a broader reach and enabling us to engage with a larger audience.

The upper section of the station features a created illusion of openness. This design choice allowed for the incorporation of subtle blue lights, enhancing the station’s visual appeal and ensuring its visibility even during nighttime. However, while it appears open, it is actually protected by the continuation of the blue protection, serving as a safeguard against birds, animals, and adverse weather conditions.

The body of the station follows an “in-out-in” configuration. The outward-facing section includes the user interface screen and payment options, positioning the interaction point closer to the customer. Furthermore, the design includes a slight upward tilt, taking into consideration the height requirements for individuals in wheelchairs and ensuring optimal readability for those not using a wheelchair.

The incorporation of negative space at the bottom of the station aligns with the overall design style, which prioritizes displaying only essential elements. This approach imparts a modern, technological, and open aesthetic. Nevertheless, the negative space is protected by a transparent cover, similar to the top section, to prevent any accidental misuse or disregard of the designated area.

Instruction design for the front of the station

Grouping (Placement of screen, payment and dispenser box)

The front of the station consists of 4 sections; the screen, the payment, the dispenser box and the QR code to download the app. Grouping is used to guide the user’s journey., as they will first look top left and naturally it will look from left to right, top to bottom. The 4 sections are placed strategically for the user to follow the process naturally.

The first step is to go through the user interface on the screen, where the user will sign up and log in into the station. Then the user will continue the journey path to the right to pay. Once the payment is successful, the user’s attention will be shifted to the dispenser box opening below, where they will take the power bank.

Payment (icon to insert card)

Underneath the compartment for inserting the card to pay, an icon will be placed to indicate where and how to insert the card in the correct way.
