Camp Moria needs Solar Still & we need your help to get it there.
Why do the refugees need help?
To say that refugees in Camp Moria experience stress is a profound understatement. They must cope with migration, war, oppression, forced detention, violence, and witness death and destruction. On top of this, they are now forced to expose themselves to COVID-19, just to receive clean drinking water. Our goal is that Solar Still will provide refugees with potable water that is free, plentiful, and readily-available, without the need to wait in overcrowded and dangerous queues.
Why Solar Still?
- It provides up to 5 litres of safe drinking water every single day.
- It is made from 95% biodegradable materials.
- It is extremely low maintenance, just fill it with seawater every day and rinse the seawater storage tank every 4-6 weeks
- It is low tech, and uses no electricity whatsoever, which means that there are no operating costs.
- The clean water container can be locked, so that refugees can access it at any time without queuing or worrying about their reserves being stolen
