Repairability

FlexiLock is modular. The locker walls can be taken apart into separate pieces easily, making it easy to repair a single locker in a locker wall without having to take apart the entire unit. This prevents risk of damaging more parts. By being able to repair small parts, the unit will be able to function for a longer period which is more sustainable than having to throw away parts which might still function right.   

Efficiency

A truck releases about 370 grams of CO2 per km travelled. This is not sustainable. To make FlexiLock sustainable compared to similar products, it was designed to be able to be as efficiently transportable as possible. 7020 lockers will fit in one truck to be moved. This is 4x as much as lockers which are not foldable. 

Recyclability

The parts of the FlexiLock are made up out of mostly the same material: Steel. This way, if a part gets damaged, it can be easily recycled or refurbished. Leaving no extra material to be thrown away. The recycled material can be used again as a spare part or can be used for other projects as the plate newly created is rectangular and therefore a basic object for many products.
