Future

In the future, a virtual representation of reality will be used for recreating and experiencing not yet existing environments. This will allow the company to quickly make changes and additions to those environments and improve the product and the user experience.

3D model

By using a 3D model of the foldable lockers and the environment, a recreation of the potential setups of the lockers in their intended environments will be made. This makes it easy to determine the best location and layout of lockers for every upcoming event. Predicting flows and interactions will help decrease waiting time for locker users. By having an interactive model, different layouts can be tried out on the spot while discussing this with event organizers.

User Flow

The technology used for ‘on-the-spot changing layouts of the lockers’ is very simple and intuitive to use. There is a table with a beamer hanging above, which projects the map of the location of the event. There are miniature lockers placed on this table which the beamer can detect. The beamer also projects the ‘user flow’, which is the locker-users walking to the lockers and using the lockers. Moving the mini lockers will directly affect the projected simulation of the visitors. So, when 2 lockers are placed too close to each other you can directly see the jam of people on that spot. In this way, the layout can quickly be changed, and this provides an easy way to optimize the placement of lockers.
