Self Sustainable Outdoor Study Space: a Sources of Innovation project

The goal of this project was to provide everything that is needed to study efficiently, but with the calming and vitalizing effect of natural elements. Looking at current outside locations where you can sit around campus, almost no spots utilize power facilities for charging laptops or have comfortable seating and options for shade. To provide such a place with power, multiple options can be chosen. Since this course challenged us to create a conceptual design of a sustainable object on the University campus, multiple sustainable ideas for solutions were generated by brainstorming and by using mind maps. After several discussions, the choice was made to design a self sustainable outside study space. The study space should provide students with the opportunity to study undisturbed in an environment that is provided with natural elements. In the report, the importance of these natural elements and their effects will be motivated by using a multitude of relevant theory. The final report of this design project can be downloaded here.
