Bachelor student Industrial Design Engineering
Hi, my name is Femke Veldhuis and I’m studying Industrial Design Engineering at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. My interests in this field are sustainable design as well as graphic design. I like working in a team on designing a product, but I’m also able to work hard on own initiative. I like to challenge myself during designing projects and in life, whether this is exploring a new country, understanding a physics concept or try a new designing method. Trying new things will eventually lead to improving my skills and me growing as a person.read more
During my studies at the University of Twente I have gained knowledge about certain computer programs. Some of these programs I like to use in my free time as well, which results in better skills.
My interests include my interests as a designer and in daily life.
In my heart I believe we have a responsibility for the world and everyone that lives on it, now and in the future. I think that design has a big role to play in this, using sustainable materials and minimizing the ecological footprint of products and waste. I'm always looking for opportunities to make designs more sustainable and durable.
I believe that people can create the most beautiful things by making good use of graphic design. Whether I'm creating a magazine, designing course material or drawing a sketch for a new product, I'm always passionate about creating the best graphic design there is.
One of my greatest joys is to discover new cultures and meet new people. Last year I have been abroad for one semester in Luleå, Sweden. I met a lot of people and learned about the Swedish culture and language. Further, I'm planning to take one year off in 2018 to travel the world and do volunteer work.
I have played and loved sports for my entire life. I have played field and indoor hockey for ten years and icehockey since two years. During summer holidays I like to do more extreme sports like rafting, canyoning, via ferrata, kayaking and skydiving.
This portfolio shows what I've done in the past few years on the University of Twente for Industrial Design Engineering and projects that I did in my free time.
