This project was aimed to find a way for designers and engineers to modify any 3D model into a Topology Optimized version. By following official tutorials on Siemens’ 3D modelling software Siemens NX, enough knowledge was required to get started on exploring the different possibilities to Topology Optimize 3D models of multiple file types. A workflow was established that guides designers and engineers through the process of creating a topology optimized version of their own imported 3D model. The step by step instructions with visual support allow the user to follow the process without having to be familiar with the software.
