Our assignment for this project was to design an interactive light for in the garden. The result was a light that seemed to be alive (like fire). It would turn on once it becomes dark and would react based on the users proximity by becoming brighter. Making it seem like the user is interacting with a living thing. The light source could be ‘activated’ by turning it open, to give the user a more tactile interaction with the lamp. This would cause the light to no longer react based on the user’s proximity and would cause the light to become more bright. This light would be one of many, spread all over the garden. Some would be placed on long stalks or placed on the ground between the plants, while others are mobile and could be placed on tables and taken anywhere.
